Brown Mackie-Michigan City began their 2-year Veterinary Technician Program in August of 2007.  They currently have 49 students enrolled and offer both day and night classes for the general education/core classes.  Job placement assistance is offered after graduation. The chairperson of the program is Dr. Tracy Chase-Thompson.  She will officially start September 8th, 2008 as she is a relief veterinarian and has prior commitments.  Bobbie Kaufman RVT was hired as the Clinical Coordinator in March 2008.  Three RVT’s are doing class instruction: Kortney Krassow, Kandy Severin, and Melissa Baldwin.  We are presently working on obtaining equipment and large enough facility (with animals) for our students.  This has been going very well thanks to the wonderful support from the community. We have our accreditation visit in March 2009.
