Brown Mackie College, Michigan City

Brown Mackie-Michigan City began their 2-year Veterinary Technician Program in August of 2007.  They offer both day and night classes for the general education/core classes.  Job placement assistance is offered after graduation.

The Veterinary Technology Program at Brown Mackie College-Michigan City is going strong!  They are having their first graduation ceremony on September 17,2010.  They are very excited to have 22 students graduating.  Even though there are students finishing the program monthly, there is only one graduation ceremony a year.  A formal graduation ceremony will be held at the local high school auditorium followed by an informal ceremony at the Michiana Humane Society.  They are having a pinning ceremony and presenting the graduates with a copy of the Veterinary Technician Oath.  The Veterinary Technology faculty and staff are hosting the graduates, their families, the Humane Society Board members, and local Veterinary Clinics that have sponsored the students for externships.

Faculty and staff has remained the same for the past year:
Bobbie Kaufman RVT, is the Department Chair
Kortney Krassow RVT, BS, is a fulltime instructor
Dr. Tracy Chase-Thompson is a part-time instructor
Dr. Kristin Fausset is a part-time instructor
Dawn Bolka RVT, BS is a adjunct instructor

The Brown Mackie Vet Tech program presently has a waiting list for enrollment.
